Farmers' Protest LIVE Updates: Farmers protesting against the Centre's farm laws staged a day-long fast at various protest sites on Monday. The farmers have maintained that they will continue to hold protests till the government repeals the farm laws. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has assured the farmers that the government is ready to discuss the farm laws clause by clause. The government has sent out a proposal to the farmers to hold the next round of talks with them. Narendra Singh Tomar also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP MPs and MLAs from Haryana at his official residence. Thousands of farmers have been sitting in protest against the farm laws on the Delhi border areas since November 26. Protesting farmers have expressed apprehension that these laws would pave the way for the dismantling of the minimum support price system, leaving them at the "mercy" of big corporations. Farmers’ Protest LIVE Updates: The agitating farmer groups have rejected the revised government proposal that gave assurances on MSP and mandi system. The ongoing protests and blockades by the farmers will now intensify further, announced the farmer groups on Wednesday after rejecting the proposal. The farmers have announced another ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on December 14 while more protests have been planned on December 12, including gheraoing BJP offices and ministers across states. The farmers have also said that the Jaipur-Delhi and the Delhi-Agra expressways will be blocked from Saturday. The farm leaders said there was nothing new in the government proposal and their demand of complete repeal of the three farm reform laws continue to stay. The sixth round of talks between the government and farmer leaders on Wednesday was also cancelled after they met Home Minister Amit Shah the day before.
